Mary Baker Eddy was led in the year 1866 to the discovery of the system that she denominated Christian Science. As early as 1862 she began to write down and give friends the results of her Scriptural study for the Bible was her sole teacher. The first edition of her book “SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES” was published in 1876 and is now published in 17 languages. She subsequently established the ”CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY BIBLE LESSONS” with 26 subjects throughout the year, ”THE JOURNAL” for monthly study and “MONITOR”, which is now published weekly with international news. The Committee provides many inmates with our textbook, “Science and Health with Key to The Scriptures” as well as gift subscriptions to the Bible Lessons, Sentinel and Monitor.
